About BURRILL LAKE

Located 5km south of Ulladulla, most of the shores of this beautiful lake retain their natural bushland and forest cover, with views across to Pigeon House Mountain.
The first white settlers were the Ireland family, who lived near the shore on the south side of the lake, possibly as early as the 1840s. They established a timber mill, using bullock teams to haul the timber from the property to the mill. The timber was sawn and used to build local homes. In the 1920s, Cooper Estate, which had been created by Robert James Cooper, was subdivided and became the Burrill Lake township. Timer and shell grit gathering became the principal industries in the area.

The Lake offers sailing, windsurfing, boating and prawning (in season).
