Rose Bay is a harbour side, eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Rose Bay is located 7 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government areas of Waverley Municipal Council.

Rose Bay borders Vaucluse to the north, Dover Heights to the east, North Bondi to the south-east, and Bellevue Hill to the south-west. Lyne Park abuts Sydney Harbour, on its west. Shark Island is located in Sydney Harbour, just north of Rose Bay.

Rose Bay is one of Sydney's most desirable and affluent suburbs. It offers views of both the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge together.

Rose Bay was named after The Right Honourable George Rose (he was not knighted) who was joint Secretary to the British Treasury with Thomas Steele, after whom Steel Point at Nielsen Park was named. The name Rose Bay was used as early as 1778 by Captain John Hunter.

From 1938 sea planes have landed in Sydney Harbour on Rose Bay and so this is Sydney's first international airport. There is a nearby restaurant called Catalina. There is also a ferry wharf which commuters can catch in to the city or to Watsons Bay.

The Wintergarden Cinema was a landmark building which housed the Sydney Film Festival from 1968 to 1973, but which was demolished to make way for exclusive apartments in the late 1980s.
