About WILSONS PROMONTORY

Wilsons Promontory is the southern-most point of the Australian mainland. It is one of the largest national parks in Australia, and arguably the most popular national park in Victoria, where it is known as 'the Prom'. It has a blend of mountainous forests, fern gullies, heaths, salt marshes, grey granite ranges and over 100 km of coastal wilderness area.
The promontory serves as a feeding ground for international migratory birds including endangered species.

One of the attractions in the area include a very scenic drive from Yanakie to Tidal River. There are 22 walking tracks including beach walks at Squeaky Beach or along Tidal River at Norman Bay, the Lilly Pilly Gully, Mount Oberon and Pillar Point. Longer walks are to Tongue Point, Sealers Cove, Oberon Bay, and the granite lighthouse (40 km return).
