Last Minute Accommodation Sydney
Sydney has an abundance of hotels to choose from, which makes finding
last minute accommodation in Sydney on a budget achievable,
especially if you’re staying midweek.
Why anchor in just one hotel for the duration of your stay? If you break
your accommodation up into at least two parts, you’ll have a much greater
feel of the city’s diversity.
Darling Harbour lies just west of the CBD and offers a wide selection of
accommodation, and all offer excellent last minute rates.
If you have an appreciation for architecture, art, space and the waterside,
staying at any one of the hotels offered in Darling Harbour is a must.
Enjoy breakfast on the foreshore at the Cockle Bay Wharf and King Street
Wharf, visit the Australian National Maritime Museum (walk thought a real
submarine), see marine life up close through glass ceiling and walls of
Sydney Aquarium, stroll across the overpass to the Power House Museum
for a serving of social history, eclectic exhibitions, many of which are
hands on. Look up and you’ll see a full size helicopter and other exhibits
hanging from the ceiling.
For lunch, try a mix of Australian and Italian culture and head off to the
'Friend in Hand' pub in the suburb of Glebe. If you like a good stroll, you
can walk there from Darling Harbour.
Other surrounding features of Darling Harbour are the Star City Casino –
offering shows and theatre, and if you like seafood the famous Sydney Fish
Markets will certainly delight your palate.
And at the end of a long day, take a visit to the Chinese Garden of
Friendship and catch your breath at the Chinese Tea house, which can be
found by the Lotus pond.

My second choice of stay is ‘The Rocks’, which is north of Sydney’s CBD.
Accommodation in and around The Rocks is also in abundance, which makes
that last minute booking possible, offering five star Hotels, Boutique
Hotels, Bed and Breakfast accommodation, Inns and more.
The Rocks – is a pocket of Sydney you won’t want to miss. It’s situated
in Sydney's city centre on the western side of Circular Quay.
When visiting The Rocks, you’ll soon have a feeling of yester year once
you walk the worn cobbled stoned streets of the early European settlers
and visit many of the attractions. You’ll find old traditional pubs on
most corners and many restaurants and businesses are housed within
original buildings that are now protected by the National Trust.
Take a stroll beneath the Sydney harbour bridge, take the walk across
it or book to climb over it. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, also known as
'the old coat hanger' was built in 1932. The Rocks is also the home for
the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Don’t forget to visit Cadman's Cottage, The Rocks Markets, Rocks
Discovery Museum and Argyle Place is a must.
So now you know, finding last minute accommodation in Sydney is not only
possible, but it is a great decision to save money and enjoy the best
that Sydney has to offer!
